Noble Health Alliance Announces Dissolution

The board of managers of Noble Health Alliance announced this morning its decision to dissolve the organization.

Noble Health Alliance was founded in 2014 and is currently co-owned by Aria Health System, Crozer-Keystone Health System, and Einstein Healthcare Network. Through Noble, the three health systems have worked cooperatively to develop Accountable Care strategies to improve healthcare quality and lower costs.

“Each member of Noble remains committed to these goals,” said Kathleen Kinslow, chair of the Noble board of managers and chief executive officer of Aria Health System.  “However, as some Noble member health systems have entered into mergers or acquisitions, and considering the rapidly evolving healthcare market in the Philadelphia region, the board of managers believes that Noble Health Alliance is no longer the optimal model through which to achieve our quality and cost goals.”

Noble built an extensive network of primary care and specialist physicians, and employees (and dependents) of the three health systems were encouraged to use Noble providers. Employees of Aria, Crozer-Keystone, and Einstein will be able to continue accessing Noble-participating providers until the conclusion of their current benefit plan’s year. Physicians participating in the Noble Physician Network will not be affected by the dissolution of the Alliance. Noble will fulfill incentive payments due to eligible physicians for achieving quality goals during FY2016. Noble is also working with its 10-member staff on employment transition.

While most routine, daily business operations will cease by the end of June 2016, certain administrative functions related to the physician network will continue through the end of the year. Noble anticipates that full dissolution of the organization will be completed no later than December 31, 2016. The Noble website will remain active until that time and will provide updated information as necessary.
