Genetic Screening and Services

Advanced technology has changed the way healthcare approaches chronic disease and illness. Genetic screening allows you to understand your family's medical history and your own health risks.

For example, the presence of certain genes in you or your family may put you at higher risk for developing certain diseases or cancers. Genetic screening helps to identify issues so you can make informed decisions about your health.

Genetic screening and services are open to all members of our community, and counselors are on staff to review your family and personal health histories. Screening may also help families of cancer patients better understand their future risks and treatment options.

Understand your health with genetic screening

Familiarize yourself with your family's health history through screening for:

  • Genetic diseases primarily affecting people of Jewish heritage
  • Tay-Sachs disease
  • Hereditary cancer risk
  • Hemophilia

Genetic specialists also work with experts from various disciplines, including:

  • Neurology (brain and spine)
  • Orthopedics (bones, joints and muscles)
  • Cardiology (heart)
  • Ophthalmology (eye care)
  • Endocrinology (hormones)
